For a September start we are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and dynamic person to play an active role in the College’s large, thriving and highly successful Visual Arts Department. Working alongside a highly experienced team of subject specialists, the ideal candidate for this role will have a good level of knowledge and passion for Graphic Communication and Design.
Teaching experience at A level or higher is preferable but we would also be interested in applicants who have worked in industry. This is a part‑time position, working 3 days a week (0.6 contract).
Students taking design courses at RIC work across a broad range of project areas such as brand identity, packaging design, marketing and advertising, design for print, web and app design, motion and environmental graphics, photography, animation and illustration, utilising traditional and digital techniques and processes to aid their idea development.
Students learn about the fundamental elements and principles of Graphic Design through workshops, talks, visiting practitioners, class discussion and group work. You will be required to teach some GCSE and A level classes and offer workshops and extra‑curricular clubs across the year groups.
A genuine love of graphic and digital arts and a desire to inspire and stretch motivated students is essential. Flexibility and the ability to adapt and think fast will also be desired.
Curriculum Graphic Communication: AQA Specification (GCSE & A level)
