The Pointer School is an Independent Christian Prep school in Blackheath, Southeast London. We are seeking an inspirational, dedicated, and passionate teacher to join our thriving school.
This role will be based in a KS2 class. As a non-selective school, we are looking for teachers who are willing to offer exceptional individualised learning, adapting to the needs of all learners in the class and challenging each pupil to achieve their academic potential. Our pupils leave us after Year 6 to attend the very best schools in London and the right candidate will be able to guide pupils towards this.
We have a strong family atmosphere and the successful teacher will become a key part of the continuation of this, supporting in the co-curricular life of the school and attending school events. Our school has an excellent reputation for pastoral care and we are looking for warm, caring teachers who will actively contribute to this important aspect of school life.
Candidates must have a teaching qualification, though the position is suitable for an experienced teacher or a dynamic ECT with experience of KS2. This position is from January 2026 and is on a fixed term contract, initially for two terms, with the possibility to extend.
The Pointer School is totally committed to safeguarding the welfare of students and young people and expects the same from its employees. All new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). You must have the right to work in the UK, hold or be willing to obtain a valid DBS and be at least 18 years old.
