At Duke of Lancaster School, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking a skilled, compassionate and motivated Teacher to join our team and help create an inspiring, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making a meaningful difference.
You will deliver engaging and accessible lessons that meet the diverse needs of our learners, supporting them to build confidence, independence and a love of learning. The successful candidate will have experience teaching, with the ability to adapt learning to meet a wide range of needs. A strong understanding of SEND, particularly Autism and communication needs, would be highly beneficial.
You will also be confident in assessing, monitoring and reporting on student progress, using EHCP targets and individual learning plans (ILPs) to ensure learning is personalised and progress is effectively tracked. You will deliver engaging, creative lessons that support students’ intellectual, social and emotional development, using flexible and trauma-informed approaches that enable every learner to succeed.
Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting enrichment activities, celebrating student achievements and helping to create a positive, nurturing school community.
