We’re recruiting for a Resourcing Manager within a global law firm. This is a critical role within the Human Resources Team, responsible for helping allocate staff effectively across the firm in a way that balances business priorities, client demand, utilisation, career development and employee wellbeing.

This opportunity will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders to solve complex resourcing challenges.

The role:

  • Assess lawyer workload, capacity and capability to support new matters and projects.
  • Analyse timelines, skill sets and matter requirements to identify the most suitable resources.
  • Optimise utilisation by resolving conflicts, bottlenecks and competing priorities.
  • Support, coach and escalate issues for resource consultants within the team.
  • Build trusted relationships across the firm with lawyers, partners and stakeholders.
  • Forecast future resourcing needs based on pipelines, growth and strategic initiatives.
  • Help drive change, strengthen the resource management function and support integration across practice groups.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience in resource management, workforce allocation or a related field, ideally in professional services, legal or another fast-paced environment.
  • Strong planning, allocation and optimisation skills in a high-volume setting.
  • Confidence building credibility with stakeholders and introducing resource management into new business groups.
  • Experience leading, coaching or developing others.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to constructively challenge senior stakeholders and drive outcomes.
  • Strong judgement, resilience and analytical capability.
