Dufrain is seeking a senior Product Owner and Remediation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to play a critical role in a high‑visibility, FCA‑regulated remediation programme for a UK financial services client. The role is product‑led, with primary accountability for remediation outcomes. The role will bridge business and technical stakeholders, work closely with solution architects and delivery teams, and ensure product delivery aligns with business and regulatory expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as Product Owner for remediation solutions within regulatory‑driven programmes (redress, settlements, customer rectifications).
  • Own and prioritise product requirements, backlog, and acceptance criteria.
  • Translate regulatory and business intent into clear, actionable product direction.
  • Support scheme readiness, M0/M1 go‑lives, and hypercare phases.

Delivery Alignment & Architecture Collaboration

  • Work closely with solution architects and delivery teams to ensure product delivery aligns with business expectations and regulatory intent.
  • Act as the primary translator between business outcomes and technical implementation.
  • Validate delivered solutions against business expectations, not just technical completion.
  • Resolve ambiguity early to protect delivery timelines and outcomes.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively across business, delivery, and executive audiences.
  • Maintain client confidence during high‑pressure and regulatory scrutiny periods.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Contribute to solutioning discussions alongside architects and technical leads.
  • Support account growth, roadmap discussions, and future‑phase shaping.
  • Mentor Product Owners or Business Analysts where appropriate.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or SME in remediation or regulatory programmes.
  • Strong Financial Services background (banking, lending, insurance, or wealth).
  • Experience operating in FCA‑regulated environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Technical Awareness

  • Sufficient technical background to engage credibly with architects and engineers.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and data‑driven remediation solutions is desirable (hands‑on build will be good to have).

What Success Looks Like

  • Seamless transition of remediation product ownership.
  • Sustained confidence from senior client stakeholders.
  • Clear alignment between business intent and delivered solutions.
  • Reduced single‑person dependency across the programme.
