WIGGLES & GIGGLES OLDBURY LIMITED Oldbury (B68 0BS) Closes in 16 days (Sunday 30 March at 11:59pm) To help and support key workers in their role and support children\’s activities and hygiene practices whilst following nursery policies and procedures. This nursery is part of a group of 6 nurseries across the West Midlands. Depending upon experience, the employer will consider paying up to £7.00 per hour. Training course: Early years educator (level 3) Hours: Monday- Friday, between the hours of 7.30am and 6.30pm. Shifts to be confirmed. 30 hours a week Duration: 1 year 6 months Work Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you’ll do at work Observing children Planning activities Responsible for their health and well-being and attending to their every need Provide outstanding standard of care and learning Support their personal, social and emotional development Ensure children have exciting learning opportunities and challenging interactions Communicate effectively with parents Keep records detailing planning and evidence of progress Safeguard and look after the welfare of children; you will have key children Where you’ll work Training Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. College or training organisation DUDLEY COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY Your training course Early years educator (level 3) – Equal to A level Course contents Recognise when a child or a colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure. Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of children in the setting. Apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management within documentation and practice. Teach children to develop skills to manage risk and maintain their own and others safety. Use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet the individual needs of the child. Develop and maintain effective professional, collaborative relationships with others involved in the education and care of the child. Provide sensitive and respectful personal care for children from birth to 5 years. Advocate for all children’s needs, including children which require SEND or EAL support. Support children to develop a positive sense of their own identity and culture. Support children to understand and respond to their emotions and make considered choices about their behaviours. Create inclusive, child-centred, dynamic, innovative, and evolving physical environments both indoors and outdoors. Create inclusive and supportive emotional environment that enables the child to feel safe, secure, respected and experience a sense of wellbeing. Analyse observation evidence to assess and plan holistic individual learning based on a comprehensive understanding of the child’s needs and interests. Facilitate and support child-centred opportunities and experiences based on the setting\’s curriculum and pedagogy. Use reflection to develop themselves both professionally and personally. Your training plan Early Years Educator Level 3 Standard Apprenticeship Qualification. Training will be provided on an ongoing daily basis and when required. You will not be required to attend Dudley College premises as the course is delivered in the workplace only. Time spent training will be part of the agreed contracted hours of the working week. At the end of your training, you will sit an exam and submit course work as part of your assessment, and you will receive a Level 3 qualification. English and maths qualifications form a mandatory part of all apprenticeships. You will join a well-established team of practitioners, who will help to provide quality coaching and mentoring to achieve all of the requirements needed to achieve your qualification. Your training will include a Paediatric First Aid qualification. Requirements GCSE or equivalent in: Maths and English (grade C/4 or above) NVQ or SVQ Level 2 or equivalent in: Early Years/Childcare (Grade Level 2) (grade Pass, Merit or Distinction) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have.
