As a Fabricator Technician Apprentice, you will develop the skills required to manufacture and assemble metal components and structures to exact specifications. You will work with a variety of materials and fabrication techniques, ensuring all work meets Ishida’s high standards of quality, safety, and precision.
Wage £15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.
What you’ll do at work:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Cut, form, and shape metal components
- Carry out welding and joining processes
- Assemble fabricated parts into finished products
- Inspect and measure components for quality
- Follow safe working practices at all times

11 Kettles Wood Drive, Woodgate Business Park, Birmingham, West Midlands, B32 3DB
Training Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. You will be required to attend Advance II Campus, Priory Road, Dudley College, DY1 4AD 1 day per week in term time only.
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship you will gain an Engineering Operative - Fabrication and Welding Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification. You will be assigned an assessor who will support you with your progression on your apprenticeship course.

- GCSE in Maths (grade 4/C/Level 2 Functional Skills)
- GCSE in Science (grade 4/C/Level 2 Functional Skills)
