Shop Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a real shop leadership seat with room to shape how the operation runs. You will lead a team of 8-10 in a 50,000 square foot refurbishment facility, own the shop schedule and subcontractor coordination, and prepare quotes for incoming work.
Salary: Competitive based on experience
Location: Darlington, PA (Beaver County)
Schedule: Monday through Friday

CLIENT OVERVIEW
A growing equipment refurbishment company serving oil and gas production operators. The business runs out of a 50,000 square foot shop on roughly 35 acres and is investing in new technology to modernize how work is scheduled, tracked, and quoted. The team is small enough that the Shop Manager works directly with ownership and has real say in how things get done.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations:
- Lead and develop a shop team of 8 to 10 across refurbishment operations
- Build and manage shop schedules to keep jobs moving and delivered on time
- Source, schedule, and manage subcontractors supporting shop work
- Track job progress, labor hours, and material needs, and adjust the plan when priorities shift
- Hold the shop to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
Commercial:
- Prepare and issue quotes for customer refurbishment work
- Review scope with customers and ownership to confirm pricing and timelines
Systems and Improvement:
- Partner with ownership on new custom software rollouts, including testing, workflow design, and training the team
- Identify process gaps and put practical fixes in place
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance conversations as the shop grows
REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Approximately 5 years of direct management experience leading a team
- Background in an industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, or shop environment
- Proven ability to build and hold a production schedule
- Experience managing subcontractors or outside vendors
- Comfort learning custom software and helping roll it out to a team
- Strong communication skills with both crews and customers
Preferred:
- Experience preparing quotes or estimates
- Exposure to oil and gas production equipment
- Experience in a shop of similar size and scope
- Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing exposure
