Are you a teacher who is passionate about supporting children's learning within a fabulous one-form entry school? If so, we want you to join our team! The Governors of Our Lady and St Kenelm RC School are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and inspirational teacher to work at our school in our Year 2 class covering a maternity vacancy for 1 term (September 2026 - December 2026). After this, there is the possibility of the role continuing as a 2‑day job share.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching and learning in line with the national curriculum and the ethos of a Catholic school.
  • Support the faith life of the school, fostering pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons effectively to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Create a positive, safe and supportive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community, supporting school Masses on Sunday mornings and other activities.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified teacher (QTS essential).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the vision and values of Catholic education (being a practising Catholic is desirable but not essential).
  • Have experience of teaching at Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
  • Be passionate about teaching and learning, with high expectations for all pupils.
  • Be able to inspire, motivate and support children to achieve their best.
  • Be an excellent communicator and a team player.

Additional Information:

The post holder may be reasonably expected to undertake other duties appropriate to the level of responsibility that may be allocated from time to time. Our Lady and St Kenelm is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; therefore the post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical clearance and adherence to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
