Make a Difference Where It Matters Most
Dudley Council is transforming the way we deliver services for our residents, communities and businesses. We are seeking a number of exceptional Strategic Operational Leads to play a key role in shaping the future of our Housing and Property services across the borough.
About the roles
The Housing and Property Team is recruiting Operations Managers to support the delivery of several key functions.
These are senior operational service leadership roles, operating across statutory services and areas that are high-profile, politically sensitive and emotive. Some services operate outside normal office hours, so successful candidates must be prepared to work flexibly when required.
Successful postholders will report to the Associate Director Acquisitions, Compliance & Maintenance and will provide oversight across a number of related service areas.
The Operational Manager of Acquisitions, Disposals & New Developmentswill lead the service responsible for the acquisition and disposal of residential and non-residential properties, alongside new development activities, including:
- Property acquisitions
- Disposals, including leases
- New-build construction, commissioning and handover
- Option modelling and feasibility studies
- Building Control
Why Join Us?
You’ll be joining a council with ambitious plans for improvement and transformation, where your leadership will directly influence services that matter to thousands of residents.
We offer:
- A senior leadership opportunity within a forward-thinking Housing & Assets Property Group
- The opportunity to shape, develop and improve critical housing and property services
- A collaborative and supportive leadership environment
- Opportunities for professional development and career progression
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
Important information
These are not conventional 9-to-5 roles. The services include statutory responsibilities and functions that operate outside normal office hours. Successful candidates will therefore need to demonstrate the flexibility, resilience and leadership required to respond when operational demands require it.
So that we can demonstrate Dudley's commitment to diversity and inclusion and to improve bias in the recruitment process that could create barriers for candidates. Your personal data will be anonymised when you apply, to ensure that you comply with our anonymisation process, please ensure you have removed your name and date of birth from any attachments prior to uploading them to your application.
All applicants must be able to provide documentation to prove their right to work in the UK.
Please note: Dudley MBC does not currently offer sponsorship for candidates without the Right to Work in the UK.
Dudley Council will check the information that you have provided against any details already held for accuracy and completeness. The Council will check, share and cross match your information both internally within the council and with external organisations to protect public funds and prevent or detect crime, only where the law allows us to do so.
