Are you proactive, organised and confident managing compliance activity across a diverse property portfolio? We are looking for a motivated Contracts Compliance Officer (Buildings) to join our Property Services team, contributing to the essential work that keeps our buildings safe, compliant and well-managed. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing service that works collaboratively with partners, schools, academies and internal council teams to deliver essential statutory compliance.
As our Contracts Compliance Officer (Buildings) you will support the smooth running of key statutory compliance programmes, including:
- Statutory building compliance requirements, certification and follow-on works
- Asbestos management and Fire Risk Assessment programmes
You will manage the administrative and coordination requirements of these programmes, working closely with our partners, technical team and other stakeholders. From tracking performance and interpreting data, to maintaining accurate records and liaising with customers, your work will help ensure our buildings meet all legal, safety and quality standards. You will also contribute to day-to-day reactive maintenance tasks and minor building projects, providing essential support across the Property Services team.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in compliance processes in a technical area.
- Comfortable interpreting technical information and legislative requirements.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
- A clear communicator, confident liaising with partners, contractors and customers.
- Analytical, proactive and solution-focused.
- Able to build positive working relationships with partners and colleagues.
You will have a relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g., A-Levels, BTECs, T-Levels or Advanced Apprenticeships) in a related subject or the ability to demonstrate extended experience and/or training that enables you to carry out the full range of duties. Experience in building related legislation, e.g., asbestos-related services and fire risk assessments would be beneficial.
