Post: 7 x Team Assistant posts (full time)
Hours: 37 hours full time or 18.50 hours part-time available
Salary: Grade 5 (£25,584 – £27,269 FTE)
Location: Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre or various locations across Dudley borough
Opportunities have arisen to work within Assessment and Independence Therapy Services on the Dudley Short Term Assessment and Reablement team.
The role
- To contribute to the overall provision of services in Assessment and Independence
- To promote effective and efficient provision of all Occupational Therapy and Moving and Handling services.
- To participate in the core business of the Directorate, which will include;
supported patient discharge from hospital,
prevention of admission to hospital,
maximising personal performance through rehabilitation, and to support the maintenance of long-term care using the Single-handed care philosophy.
Main duties will be: –
- To complete simple functional assessments, e.g. mobility assessments for walking aids, demonstrate safe use and issue equipment.
- To make recommendations, based on assessed need for the provision of simple aids to daily living e.g. handrails, toilet equipment and mobility aids.
- To assist Therapy staff with the implementiation of exercise plans, mobility and dressing practice for identified users of the service.
- To assist teams in delivering a range of preventative services.
- To record case records in a timely and professional manner
You will be working full or part time hours over 7 days, working 5 days a week which includes some weekends and bank holidays, for which relevant enhancements will be paid.
There will be an expectation that you undertake training to obtain a permit which will enable you to support the equipment van and provision of equipment within the team as and when required.
