We are seeking two dedicated and motivated Environmental Health Officers/Senior Environmental Health Officers to join our dynamic and evolving Environmental Safety and Health team. As we continue to develop, we are seeking individuals who are eager to contribute to a busy and friendly environment that handles a wide range of Environmental Health work - pollution control, statutory nuisance from commercial and industrial premises, animal health & welfare, air quality and health & safety. The team are also consultees on planning and licence applications.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and must be able to work both autonomously as well as part of a team. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle will be necessary as travelling around the borough is a requirement of the post. We offer flexible working arrangements and a generous leave entitlement of 30 days rising to 34 days with 5 years continuous service.

The role

  • Hours: 37 per week (Alternative working patterns may be considered but are not guaranteed).
  • Salary: Grade 9-10 £37,938 - £44,711. Salary will be subject to qualifications and level of experience.
  • Location: 3-5 St James’s Road, Dudley, DY1 1HZ (Currently this position has a mixture of home, office and district working).
  • Although the majority of work is undertaken in core office hours you will be expected to work flexibly and routinely outside of core office hours in order to ensure service delivery.
