Return to Social Work Programme role at Dudley Council

Job Details

Paid, full‑time, 12‑week supervised placement. After successful completion, you will be considered for a permanent role in our Children’s Services and may progress onto our Post Return to Social Work Programme.

About the Programme

Designed for Social Workers who have been out of practice 2–10 years and wish to return.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to develop a Professional Development Plan.
  • Work with an experienced Social Worker in a core team for supervised practice, including two days per week for private/formal study.
  • Receive bespoke supervision, coaching and mentoring; coordinate a comprehensive learning package in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework and Child and Family Post Qualifying Standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previously registered social worker with Social Work England or HCPC, or held registration previously but not practising.
  • Recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW).
  • If qualification from outside the UK, must have practice experience in England and previous registration.
  • Out of practice between 2–10 years; if no direct practice, eligible for the ASYE Programme.

Intensive Family Support Worker, starting salary £35,412 – £38,220, rising to £39,152 – £41,771 after successful completion of Post Return to Social Work Programme, plus £7,000 Market Forces Supplement if based in a Family Safeguarding or Adolescent Safeguarding Team.
