Job Details

Registration Officer – Part time, 2 days per week (Fridays and Saturdays). Grade 6 – £28,598 – £31,022 pro rata. Office based. Location: Dudley and Stourbridge Registration Offices, approved premises and registered buildings within the Borough.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registration Officer to join the team on a part-time basis. Attendance for ceremonies is required on some Sundays and Bank Holidays. There may be a need to work additional hours mid-week as required, to register births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships, and attesting notices of marriage/civil partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Register marriages and civil partnerships, officiate ceremonies, and provide non-statutory services including naming and renewal of vows ceremonies.
  • Register births and deaths and take notices of marriage; perform other functions commensurate with the role.
  • Work across two locations in the borough and attend ceremonies at approved premises and registered buildings; provide birth registration services at Family Hubs as required.

Two locations within the borough; attendance at ceremonies at approved premises; work at short notice as required. Location: Dudley Register Office (Priory Hall), Stourbridge Registration Office (Thomas Robinson Building), and other registered premises.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous registration experience.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent, as a minimum.
  • Excellent customer care, accuracy, and attention to detail; able to work in a busy environment; flexible team player; able to adapt to different roles and tasks and work at short notice.
