Operations Officer – Planned Works Delivery Team
Location: Hybrid – Office attendance minimum of 2 days per week. The role covers the whole Dudley borough (approx. 15 miles from the town centre).
Salary: £37,938 – £40,476 (Salary Grade 9, SCP 28–31).
Hours: 37 hours per week – Permanent.
Responsibilities
- Manage planned works programmes, building construction and maintenance projects.
- Oversee approved contractors, including on‑site performance.
- Attend regular contract meetings to develop, agree and maintain work programmes/projects.
- Handle contract administration and works orders for each programme or project.
- Gather information for efficient contract management (operational and financial aspects).
- Make technical decisions and address issues that may arise.
Qualifications
- Experience in contract management, construction or maintenance.
- Strong information gathering and processing skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver high‑quality service.
What you can expect
Your day may start with answering emails or engaging in verbal communication with colleagues, contractors, customers, or stakeholders. You may meet approved contractors to discuss scope of works pre‑start and complete hand‑over of works, engaging with customers to finalize satisfaction.
As an Operations Officer you play a vital role in managing planned works programmes, ensuring effective use of approved contractors and overseeing on‑site performance, attending contract meetings, and managing necessary contract administration and works orders.
