Job Details

Dudley MBC is a Community Council rich in history and is very focused on regeneration and reinvesting itself to meet challenges of the future, forming part of the West Midlands Combined Authority. Legal Services continues to be accredited to Lexcel, the Law Society’s standard for excellence in Legal Practice Management and Client Care.

The Council requires a qualified Solicitor/Barrister with experience of Civil Litigation Law. Must be able to work independently and as part of a much wider team, working cross-directorate and with external bodies. Experience in local government is essential together with good communication skills and the ability to manage large caseload.

Part time Permanent (29.6 hours per week) – would consider other part time hours

Salary: Grade 12 (SCP 40-43 (pro rata) £51,356.00 to £54,495.00 per annum.

Location: Agile working between Dudley Town Centre/Working from home

We have an opportunity available for an experienced Corporate Litigation Solicitor/Barristers within the Legal Services Corporate and Litigation Team on a part time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will, amongst other things, deal with various civil litigation matters, manage caseloads, prepare court bundles, attend court and provide legal advice to the Council’s officers and Elected Members.
  • Employees work within the Council\’s Flexible Working Policy, subject to the business needs of the Council being fulfilled.
