Care‑taker – Dudley MBC

About the role

Dudley MBC seeks a dedicated and hardworking Care‑taker to support the safety, cleanliness and maintenance of our council buildings and housing estates. The role will involve regular site visits across the borough, carrying out building inspections, fire safety checks, litter picking, minor repairs and general maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine building, fire and safety inspections
  • Pick up litter, perform minor repairs and general site cleaning
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance of council buildings
  • Adhere to health and safety legislation and fire alarm testing
  • Produce work to required standards and meet deadlines
  • Use basic IT software such as Outlook and manage day‑to‑day facilities operations

Qualifications

  • Understanding of health and safety and fire safety procedures
  • Hardworking, supports team and flexible work availability
