Ready to take your first step into a career in marketing and communications? At Dudley Building Society, we're looking for someone who is curious, and keen to develop creative and practical skills as our Marketing and Communications Apprentice. You don't need previous marketing experience - this role is designed to help you learn. Through a structured apprenticeship, you'll combine formal study with hands-on experience in our Marketing team, developing your confidence while supporting communications for members and colleagues.

As our Marketing and Communications Apprentice, you'll support the team by managing key day-to-day channels and processes, assisting with marketing activity and projects, and helping to deliver clear, accurate and engaging communications. The role will combine formal apprenticeship study with workplace learning, giving you the opportunity to develop marketing knowledge, communication skills and professional standards while working collaboratively across the Society.

What you'll be doing:

  • Look after the marketing inbox and reply to questions or send them to the right person.
  • Help with our social media by planning posts, checking responses and telling the right person about any questions or problems.
  • Support the team with everyday tasks, such as keeping records and trackers up to date and organising materials.
  • Help with marketing projects and campaigns, including planning, creating content, organising tasks and checking results.
  • Write, check and update marketing messages so they are easy to understand, correct and match our style.
  • Keep a clear record of approved marketing materials and help remove anything that is out of date or no longer meets the rules.
  • Work with people across the Society and use what you learn on your apprenticeship to build your skills and confidence.

What we're looking for:

  • No previous marketing experience is required - we're looking for curiosity, enthusiasm and a genuine willingness to learn.
  • Five GCSEs, including English and Maths, are preferred.
  • A good standard of written communication, with an eye for detail and an interest in creating clear, engaging content.
  • Someone who is organised, reliable and able to manage tasks, and deadlines accurately.
  • An interest in social media, digital communications and how organisations communicate with different audiences.
  • The ability to understand customers' needs and help provide appropriate solutions.
  • Confidence asking questions, listening to feedback and working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Eligibility for, and commitment to, the Society's approved apprenticeship programme, including training, workplace evidence and end-point assessment requirements.

What's in it for you?

  • Annual salary of £17,896.
  • Intelligent working - split your time between home and our Brierley Hill office.
  • 30 days' holiday, plus bank holidays and "Moments that Matter" days for birthdays, weddings, getting your house keys, welcoming a grandchild and the moments that count.
  • Up to 8% pension contribution.
  • Life assurance at 4× salary.
  • Full Private Medical Insurance for you and your family.
  • A healthcare plan for everyday essentials like dental and optical.
  • Access to our Salary Sacrifice schemes, including Cycle to Work and Electric Car schemes.

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion:

We're building a culture where everyone feels respected, supported and valued. Diversity isn't a tick box for us - it's a strength we actively champion. Whoever you are, and whatever makes you you, you'll be welcomed here and encouraged to thrive.
