Take part in 1 hour training session every 40 hours worked.

Pay: £20 per hour.

Location: Bradford/Leeds.

Responsibilities

  • Help teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water.
  • Focus on technique-based but fun teaching with the philosophy of practice makes permanent.
  • Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer; provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques; correct faults and identify ways to improve performance.
  • Be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment to motivate participation in swimming.
  • Set ground rules for each session; evaluate sessions and give feedback; regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress.
  • Identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential; differentiate in coaching sessions to support learners with additional needs.
  • Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly; follow safety standards and undertake risk assessments.

Qualifications

  • ASA Level 2 or equivalent (Required)
  • Level 2 Swim teachers qualification
  • DBS Enhanced check
  • Basic understanding of child development; understanding of relevant policies and codes of practice
