The Sales Events Manager will work closely with the General Manager, Executive Chef and Marketing Department. Main responsibility will be to generate revenue for the restaurant through direct sales, direct mail, and other sales and marketing efforts. This is a sales driven position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market and promote Duck Waffle and collect data from guests to generate sales and stimulate revenue.
- Prospecting, cold calls/warm calls on a continuous basis, setting appointments with prospects, making sales presentations, following up, closing sales, maintaining good relationships with clients, DMC and delivering a sales quota.
- Maintain a client database with all contact information plus client history if any.
- Provide the names and addresses of all inquiries whether they choose to book or not. All contact information is the property of Duck Waffle.
- Build in-house relations with various hospitality industry professionals, General Growth Properties, Destination Management Companies, hotels, and concierges.
- Write contracts and proposals for special events.
- Sell a pre-determined target amount in net sales during your first year of employment with the company.
- Be physically present and work all events unless approved otherwise by the GM.
- Develop and manage campaigns to promote every aspect of the restaurants to include but not limited to food, beverage, music, and design.
- Coordinate the production and promotion of in-house events: set-up, theme, décor, menus, etc.
- Research and develop new promotions (holiday promotions, tasting tables, etc).
- Solicit, book, and oversee events.
- Host Media Dinners.
- Attend weekly manager meetings to review production from the previous week and to set goals for the coming week and discuss the weekend business and challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years previous work experience in sales and event management (event marketing/promotions experience a plus).
- Hospitality industry experience preferred.
- Exceptional written, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Independent, proactive, accurate and deadline oriented.
