Role Description The Motorcycle Mechanic at Ducati Preston is a full-time, on-site role located in Preston, focused on the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of Ducati motorcycles. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine servicing, mechanical and electrical diagnostics, repairs, and safety checks in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. The role involves preparing bikes for delivery, test riding where appropriate, and ensuring all work is accurately documented in service records. The mechanic will collaborate closely with the service and sales teams, communicate clearly with customers about required work and options, and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering reliable, high-quality workmanship. Maintaining a clean, organized workshop and following all health and safety procedures is an essential part of the position.

Qualifications

  • Strong motorcycle and vehicle maintenance skills, with hands-on experience working on bikes and related systems.
  • Customer service and customer satisfaction skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and interact confidently with customers.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in motorcycle or automotive mechanics (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to follow manufacturer procedures and workshop standards.
  • Comfort working with diagnostic tools, service manuals, and basic computer systems for job cards and service records.
  • Previous experience working in a dealership or specialist motorcycle workshop is beneficial; experience with Ducati or premium brands is an advantage.
  • Valid motorcycle license and willingness to perform test rides as required.
