Job Overview: As a Sonographer at Duality Healthcare, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound scans of musculoskeletal imaging. You will work independently and collaboratively with clinicians to provide accurate diagnostic imaging, ensuring a high standard of patient care and safety. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a patient-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform musculoskeletal ultrasound scans.
  • Provide detailed reports and diagnostic findings to patients' referring clinicians in a timely manner.
  • Identify and escalate abnormal findings appropriately to support patient management.
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures, ensuring patients feel informed and comfortable, maintaining a compassionate and professional approach.
  • Deliver high levels of customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Ensure all imaging procedures adhere to relevant clinical and safety protocols, including infection control.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with GDPR and clinical governance guidelines.
  • Adhere to RQIA and HCPC (if applicable) regulations and best practices.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, audits, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, troubleshooting minor technical issues when necessary.
  • Ensure all equipment is regularly serviced and calibrated to maintain imaging quality.
  • Assist in the development of ultrasound protocols and best practices to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiology or equivalent.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Experience in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
  • Up-to-date training in safeguarding, infection control, and emergency procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound safety, best practices, and clinical governance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret scans accurately.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
