Eridge Underwriting is a motor specialist Managing General Agent based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. We are a brand for DUAL Corporate Risks Ltd who in turn are part of the Howden Insurance Group. Eridge generates over £70 million premium income with 75 Brokers throughout the UK.

You have an opportunity to make a positive contribution to a successful business in a working environment which encourages responsibility and supports personal and professional development. We are a team of 20, looking for a Motor Development Underwriter with at least 5 years' relevant experience to join our Underwriting team, helping The Company to meet growth targets profitably in a controlled and professional way.

The Role

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of our core insurance products (Private Car, CV, Motor Trade and Taxi) and the way Eridge operates.
  • Establish positive working relations with our Brokers, identifying and helping to manage and improve their performance.
  • Handle enquiries from our Broker partners, providing guidance on general risk acceptance, bespoke quotes, and renewals.
  • Assist in ensuring our Brokers are performing their duties on behalf of Eridge in a professional manner.
  • Contribute to the department achieving administrative SLA targets.
  • Communicate with colleagues on any observations or matters of business interest.
  • Help analyse performance of schemes, brokers and product segments.
  • Work with our Fraud Team to identify any fraud issues.
  • Understand and act on our regulatory and compliance obligations.
