DTS Trading Inc. Ltd. is a global distributor specializing in hygiene, medical, PPE, and disposable products. Established in 2011, the company works closely with partners in the UK and Europe to enhance and expand their product offerings. DTS focuses on sourcing and supplying certified products tailored to meet clients' needs across various sectors, from public bodies like NHS Trusts to major retailers.
The Finance Manager is responsible for the accounting processes, cashflow forecasting and full debtor and creditor management across the business’ divisions consisting of DTS Trading Inc Ltd & Sporting Risk Limited. The role will lead on monthly financial reporting for both divisions from a revenue, profitability, and cashflow perspective and based on these findings, deliver insights as to the financial performance and how this can be optimised moving forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the companies accounting systems are fully reconciled on a weekly basis.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports via the companies online accounting systems (QuickBooks & Xero), monthly.
- Provide insights into financial performance and recommend strategies to optimize cashflow and profitability.
- Prepare quarterly commission calculations for all sales staff within the business.
- Ensure that all invoices are paid on a timely manner and creating a process that optimises this.
- Communicate with all Vendors as to their statement of account and expected payment dates.
- Set appropriate credit limits for all customers within both businesses, ensuring the figure is relevant to both their financial means and turnover with the respective business.
- Work closely with sales staff to ensure smooth operational workflows and clear processes for customer management where there are breaches in expected customer behaviour (from a finance perspective).
- Oversee tax, VAT, payroll, and compliance matters.
- Lead the development and execution of long-term financial strategies aligned with the company’s objectives, including forecasting, investment planning, and capital allocation to support business growth.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify emerging opportunities, assess financial risks, and provide insights that influence strategic decision-making.
Division Specific Duties
- Ensuring that all costs associated with procurement activities are correctly allocated on the company’s inventory management system, to ensure accurate cost price (and subsequent margin) calculation.
- Work with procurement to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to improve financial efficiency, either from a costing or cashflow perspective.
- Work cross-departmentally to understand expenditure across all operational elements of the business and work on ways to optimise this.
- Ensure all commercial elements of customer agreements are accurately reflected in contracts.
- Oversee and execute company expenditure for foreign travel and exhibition attendance.
- Work alongside the trading team to prepare weekly/monthly revenue and profitability reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in accounting/financial management.
- Excellent mathematical capabilities.
- Proficiency in Financial Accounting Software, specifically QuickBooks & Xero.
- Literacy with both CRM and Inventory Management Systems.
- Strong understanding of UK financial regulations, VAT, and compliance requirements.
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA; partly or fully qualified.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both via email and telephone).
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- An understanding of key priorities and how to communicate this both internally and to external stakeholders.
- Firm, but collaborative attitude to ensure the financial interests of the businesses are protected.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Package
Up to £55,000 to £70,000 per annum depending on experience. Office based with hybrid flexibility following successful onboarding and role familiarisation.
