Sporting Risk Limited leverages the predictive modelling of its data science team with an extensive tech operation to be a provider of innovative price feeds and content into companies operating within the gaming and media sectors.
The Finance Manager is responsible for the accounting processes, cashflow forecasting and full debtor and creditor management across the group of businesses consisting of DTS Trading Inc Ltd & Sporting Risk Limited. The role will lead on monthly financial reporting for both businesses from a revenue, profitability, and cashflow perspective and based on these findings, deliver insights as to the financial performance and how this can be optimised moving forward.
Financial Accounting:- Ensure the companies accounting systems are fully reconciled on a weekly basis.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports via the companies online accounting systems (QuickBooks & Xero), monthly.
- Provide insights into financial performance and recommend strategies to optimize cashflow and profitability.
- Prepare quarterly commission calculations for all sales staff within the business.
- Communicate with all Vendors as to their statement of account and expected payment dates.
- Set appropriate credit limits for all customers within both businesses, ensuring the figure is relevant to both their financial means and turnover with the respective business.
- Work closely with sales staff to ensure smooth operational workflows and clear processes for customer management where there are breaches in expected customer behaviour (from a finance perspective).
- Oversee tax, VAT, payroll, and compliance matters.
- Ensure that all costs associated with procurement activities are correctly allocated on the company’s inventory management system, to ensure accurate cost price (and subsequent margin) calculation.
- Work with procurement to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to improve financial efficiency, either from a costing or cashflow perspective.
- Ensure all commercial elements of customer agreements are accurately reflected in contracts.
- Oversee and execute company expenditure for foreign travel and exhibition attendance.
3+ years of experience in accounting/financial management.
Proficiency in Financial Accounting Software, specifically QuickBooks & Xero.
Literacy with both CRM and Inventory Management Systems.
Strong understanding of UK financial regulations, VAT, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both via email and telephone).
Firm, but collaborative attitude to ensure the financial interests of the businesses are protected.
Up to £48,000 per annum depending on experience.
Office based with hybrid flexibility following successful onboarding and role familiarisation.
