Job Description:
For many companies across a variety of industries, advanced weather forecasts and insights are essential for running a safe and economically efficient business. DTN provides products and services for global businesses whose operations and supply chains are impacted by weather. The Meteorologist/Forecaster translates meteorological data into tailored information that integrates into our clients’ processes and helps them prepare for, and navigate through, impactful weather events.
As a Meteorologist/Forecaster, monitoring and forecasting the weather through the interpretation of observations and numerical weather prediction model output is an important part of your day‑to‑day work. Communicating this weather information in a clear, concise and relevant manner is equally important.
As a Meteorologist/Forecaster you will work in a team of experienced colleagues, providing meteorological consultancy services for a variety of industries and market sectors in Europe, primarily for the Offshore sector. You will be working in shifts, including weekends, evenings and nights. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a culturally diverse and international environment.
This position is based in our office in Aberdeen. This is not a remote role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and deliver forecasts to key clients in various sectors, primarily Offshore clients
- Create the weather forecast narrative and brief this to your colleagues
- Monitor outstanding weather forecasts against actual observation data and update forecasts as required
- Send out alerts to clients that are impacted by adverse weather events
- Be a point of contact for our clients for meteorological consultations and business risk assessments

Compensation:
The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between £26,500–£32,000. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market‑competitive variable pay and benefits.
