As an Account Executive in our weather division, you will be the strategic owner of client accounts in the energy, renewables and event sectors. You will ensure long-term success, partnerships and revenue growth. You will serve as a consultative advisor, building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding the account through cross-selling and upselling. You are expected to identify opportunities within existing accounts to ensure DTN’s solutions continue to meet evolving customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Build strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a strategic consultant
- Maintain a deep understanding of client needs, challenges, and business objectives
- Build strong, meaningful Territory & Account Plans
- Provide proactive recommendations, introducing new solutions that add value and drive engagement
- Have a deep understanding of weather
- Ensure customer satisfaction and retention by delivering top-notch service and innovative solutions
- Identify need to bring in additional DTN expertise and solution engineer resources for ongoing account expansion
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities to expand account value
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients to uncover unmet needs
- Strategically introduce new products, services, and solutions that align with client goals
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to optimise client offerings
- Negotiate contract renewals above a set threshold, ensuring continued success and profitability
- Continuously analyse accounts for new business opportunities, leveraging industry insights and customer feedback
- Identify potential referrals, partnerships, and expansions within existing accounts
- Stay ahead of industry trends to recommend solutions that differentiate DTN
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Sales preferred; or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in software and/or SaaS sales
- 5+ years of experience in account management, consultative sales, or B2B client relations
- Strong understanding of either the Energy, Utilities, Renewable and event industries
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth through cross-selling and upselling
- Self-motivated, with a strategic mindset and proactive approach to account management
- Proficiency in SFDC for tracking leads and managing pipelines
- A consultative and professional approach to engaging with customers
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances
- Additional language skills would be an advantage (German, Spanish, Dutch)

Compensation & Compliance
The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between £67,500 and £90,000 GBP, for Spain €52,500 and €70,000, for Ireland €58,000 and €77,000, for the Netherlands €60,000 and €75,000. DTN is a pay-for-performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity, and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market-competitive variable pay and benefits.
