As an Account Manager in our weather division, you will be the strategic owner of client accounts, ensuring long-term success, partnerships and revenue growth. You will serve as a strategic advisor in the utilities and renewables sector as well as airports, building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding the account through cross-selling and upselling. You are expected to identify opportunities within existing accounts, ensuring DTN’s solutions continue to meet evolving customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Account Ownership & Relationship Management
- Build strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a strategic consultant
- Maintain a deep understanding of client needs, challenges, and business objectives
- Build strong, meaningful Territory & Account Plans
- Provide proactive recommendations, introducing new solutions that add value and drive engagement
- Have a deep understanding of weather
- Ensure customer satisfaction and retention by delivering top-notch service and innovative solutions
- Sales Growth, Cross-Selling & Upselling
- Identify need to bring in additional DTN expertise and solution engineer resources for ongoing account expansion
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities to expand account value
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients to uncover unmet needs
- Strategically introduce new products, services, and solutions that align with client goals
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to optimise client offerings
- Negotiate contract renewals above a set threshold, ensuring continued success and profitability
- Hunt for Additional Opportunities
- Continuously analyze accounts for new business opportunities, leveraging industry insights and customer feedback
- Identify potential referrals, partnerships, and expansions within existing accounts
- Stay ahead of industry trends to recommend solutions that differentiate DTN
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Sales preferred; or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in software and/or SaaS sales
- 5+ years of experience in account management, consultative sales, or B2B client relations
- Strong understanding of either the Energy, Utilities, Transportation or Renewable industries
- Must have German language skills (written and spoken at Business Level)
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth through cross-selling and upselling
- Self-motivated, with a strategic mindset and proactive approach to account management
- Proficiency in SFDC for tracking leads and managing pipelines
- A consultative and professional approach to engaging with customers
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances
