We design and manufacture tools to solve current and emerging challenges for the oil and gas and energy transition sectors, including gas storage, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen storage and geothermal production.
This is an exciting time to join DTI as we embark on a programme of growth. We are looking for an experienced and hands on Senior Design Engineer to join our expanding team based in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven engineer to take a senior role in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Job Role:
Producing and reviewing engineering drawings to support design, manufacture, assembly, and test activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards
Leading design planning, problem-solving, and technical reviews ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with engineering best practices
Overseeing design and build programmes, managing resources effectively and driving innovation throughout the development process
Supporting workshop teams to provide technical guidance during the manufacture, assembly, and testing stages
Prepare engineering estimates, calculations, and documentation, while managing design packages and verifying purchased goods meet specifications
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and client representatives throughout project planning and execution
Skills and Experience:
HNC or Degree qualified in relevant field (mechanical, product, electro-mechanical engineering/design)
Extensive and demonstrable relevant engineering experience, with oilfield downhole tools
Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
Good team player with sound interpersonal skills
Must be able to clearly articulate technical principles and tool functionality and application
Good working knowledge of CAD system Solid works or Inventor
High level of mathematical capability to perform stress and load calculations
Ability to provide engineering solutions to client problems
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritise conflicting workloads and work to deadlines
