We are looking for a capable and hands-on Senior Power Generation Project Manager who has a strong understanding of power generation technologies and a proven track record of successful project delivery.
As a Senior Power Generation Project Manager, you are responsible for the full project lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. What You'll Do:
- Lead and manage all aspects of major projects in power generation.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines and cost targets.
- Manage multi-disciplinary project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of power generation equipment, including generators, switchgear, and associated systems.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and safety requirements across UK standards.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and challenges.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, and external partners.
- Prepare and present project reports and updates to senior management.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of project management processes and best practices.
- Travel nationally and internationally as required.
What you'll need:
- Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in project management, specifically within the power generation sector.
- Experience in overseeing critical power installations across a broad range of power ratings including multi MW installations.
- Experience working with reciprocating engine generator systems.
- Control panel exposure on Digital Control Modules such as Deep Sea, ComAP, or related power generation controls / PLC systems.
- Qualified at Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND or City & Guilds level in an Engineering discipline.
