We’re looking for a capable and hands-on Senior Service Engineer to ensure that standards are being maintained and that work is being accomplished according to an agreed upon timeline.
As a Senior Service Engineer, you are responsible for carrying out fault finding and diagnosis to a range of diesel generator sets. You will resolve electrical and mechanical engine problems. You will also replace electrical and mechanical components and carry out generator servicing.

What You’ll Do:- All work to be carried out to reflect company high standards.
- Lead multi engineer jobs, ensuring work is carried out in agreed timescale to expected standards and detailed reports are submitted on completion.
- Be an example of expected engineering and behaviour standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and apprentices.
- Carry out planned service and maintenance work on customer generators.
- Communicate/Liaise effectively with customer, OEM and DTGen operational parts/service teams on a regular basis, particularly with regards to job progress.
- Carry out remedial repairs & load bank testing.
- Carry out panel upgrades.
- Fault find and carry out breakdown repairs to customers equipment.
- Carry out site surveys requests as required.
- Carry out duties on our company on call rota system.
- Work overtime and away from home as required.
- Work from or visit other locations under the Employer’s control, these locations could be UK Wide or Worldwide.
- Complete fully detailed timesheets in the required timeline.
- Maintain appropriate and accurate stock van levels.
- Responsible for ensuring tools and equipment used on the job are calibrated and maintained in accordance with company or original equipment manufacturers guidelines.
- Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy, including company vehicles.
- Comply with all aspects of the Company’s ISO standards: Quality management - ISO 9001:2015 / Environmental - ISO 14001: 2015 / Occupational health and safety management - ISO 45001:2018, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.
- Served a recognised electrical or mechanical Qualification/apprenticeship.
- Good Communication Skills verbal, written and electronic.
- Capable of using appropriate tooling and diagnostic equipment.
- Must have strong customer focus.
- Full UK Driving License.
