Senior Cyber Security Engineer needed for a newly created position within a growing security function at this enterprise sized not for profit organisation. This is a hands-on, varied role sitting at the heart of a mature security operation, you'll be engineering, responding, remediating and mentoring.
What you'll actually be doing:
- Working alongside Cyber Security Analysts and an external SOC, you'll be the technical backbone of the team's day-to-day security operations.
- Triage and respond to incidents, work with SIEM outputs, tune EDR and email security tooling, and track vulnerabilities through to remediation.
- Embedded into IT projects from the start - reviewing designs, identifying risk and ensuring security is built in rather than bolted on.
- Take ownership of hardening the Microsoft/Azure environment, manage endpoint protection and access controls, and support third-party onboarding assurance.
- Mentoring junior colleagues.
What they're looking for:
- 5+ years in cybersecurity, with strong hands-on technical depth.
- Solid experience across endpoint, network and cloud security, particularly Azure/Microsoft stack.
- Comfortable working with outsourced SOC functions and SIEM platforms.
- Familiar with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or GIAC are a plus.
