What will you be doing?
Working in close collaboration with the Business Unit Director and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, you will provide Systems-Level Engineering and Systems Integration expertise within DTC’s Unmanned Systems business. In this role, you will be responsible for developing bespoke solutions tailored to customer requirements, leveraging both DTC and third-party technologies as appropriate. Additionally, you will lead the preparation of bids and technical proposals, including cost estimation and contributions to commercial proposals. This position will place you regularly in customer-facing scenarios, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong background in, and passion for, Unmanned Systems across air, land, or sea domains
- Solid understanding of modern wireless communication technologies, including IP Mesh systems
- Proficient in engineering of wireless systems
- Skilled in systems engineering and end-to-end system design
- Experienced in bid development, cost estimation, and technical proposal writing
- Commercially astute with proven success in customer-facing roles
About You
As the Unmanned Systems Engineering Manager, you will bring a proven track record of influencing and supporting cross-functional engineering teams, with a strong emphasis on coaching, mentoring, and inspiring technical professionals to excel. Your expertise in electronic hardware and wireless systems design will be instrumental in driving innovative solutions, while your ability to align technical strategies with broader business objectives and customer requirements will ensure the delivery of value-driven results. You’ll be confident in communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering collaboration across all levels of the organization.
This role requires candidates to undergo Security Screening to 'SC' level.
