Our engineers work at the edge of what is scientifically possible, using cutting‑edge technology to deliver highly reliable, secure, long-range wireless solutions. Our products are used across defence, uncrewed systems, government, and broadcast markets.

We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to play a key role in the design and development of advanced wireless communication systems. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of complex electronic designs, contribute to product architecture, and provide technical leadership across a range of cutting‑edge projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and requirements capture through to design, verification, production, and customer support.

You Will:

  • Architect and design high‑speed digital, analogue, and mixed‑signal electronic systems
  • Develop schematic designs, PCB layouts, and design verification plans
  • Lead technical design reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers
  • Support the delivery of customer‑funded development projects alongside Project Managers and wider business teams
  • Contribute to new product architectures, concept development, simulation, and prototyping
  • Collaborate closely with software, FPGA, RF, systems, and project teams
  • Support manufacturing teams with product introduction, testing, and production documentation
  • Provide technical support for customer demonstrations, bids, and proposals
  • Research emerging technologies and contribute to future product and technology roadmaps

Essential:

  • Strong experience designing complex digital, analogue, and mixed‑signal electronic systems
  • Experience designing high‑speed multilayer PCBs using industry‑standard ECAD tools such as Altium, PADS, or Xpedition
  • Experience with high‑speed digital interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, SATA, PCIe, HDMI, or DDR memory systems
  • Experience designing CPU and FPGA‑based systems
  • Strong understanding of switched‑mode power supplies, low‑noise power design, and design for EMC compliance
  • Hands‑on experience with board bring‑up, debugging, validation, and fault finding
  • Experience using high‑speed oscilloscopes, protocol analysers, and other electronic test equipment
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacture and design for test principles
  • Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline

Desirable:

  • Experience designing with FPGAs
  • Knowledge of RF systems and wireless communications
  • Experience with thermal management and low‑power electronic design
  • Experience of cable and wiring loom design
  • Exposure to Python, C, or VHDL for hardware validation activities
  • Knowledge of EMC, ESD, and regulatory compliance testing
  • Experience working within defence, telecommunications, broadcast, or other high‑reliability industries

Why Join DTC:

  • Work on cutting‑edge technology at the limits of what’s possible
  • Own your work from design through to delivery
  • Be part of a highly skilled, collaborative engineering team
  • Flexible working, competitive salary, and strong benefits package
