What will you be doing? Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Production Planner will play a critical role in ensuring the business can effectively procure, manufacture, and deliver products across all stages of the product lifecycle. This includes supporting new product development, ongoing production, and product withdrawal, while maintaining alignment with customer demand and operational capacity. Based within the operations environment, this role is responsible for planning and scheduling manufacturing activities, balancing material availability, production capacity, and customer requirements. The Production Planner will take ownership of demand planning inputs, inventory positioning, and ERP system accuracy to ensure production plans are realistic, achievable, and aligned with business objectives. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain stakeholders to develop and maintain a balanced production plan. The position plays a key role in identifying risks, resolving supply and demand imbalances, and continuously improving planning processes to support overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to ensure alignment between demand, supply, and production capacity.
- Reviewing and responding to MRP signals, ensuring materials and production plans are aligned with current and forecasted demand.
- Developing and maintaining production schedules based on material availability, capacity constraints, and customer priorities.
- Communicating clear and actionable production plans to Operations teams, while monitoring execution and supporting on-time delivery performance.
- Maintaining accurate ERP data to support planning, scheduling, and reporting activities across the business.
- Managing product lifecycle planning within the ERP system, including new product introduction, ongoing production, and end-of-life transitions.
- Monitoring inventory levels and supply chain commitments, ensuring stock levels are aligned with demand and business strategy.
About You:
The ideal candidate will be a detail‑oriented and analytical planner with the ability to translate data, demand signals, and business requirements into clear and achievable production plans. A strong understanding of planning principles, combined with hands‑on ERP/MRP experience, will be key to success in this role. The successful candidate will bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams. The ability to remain adaptable, manage competing priorities, and respond to changing business needs is essential in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a production planning, demand planning, or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience working with ERP/MRP systems (such as MS Dynamics/DAX or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable plans.
- Experience balancing demand, capacity, and material availability to support production scheduling.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and influence planning outcomes.
- High level of attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy and process consistency.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and operational challenges.
