DTC | A Codan Company is a technology company based in Whiteley, Hampshire. We specialise in the research and development of wireless and critical RF communication systems. Our Engineers work at the edge of what is scientifically possible, using every advancement in technology to our advantage. Our technology is deployed by our customers to give them an unrivalled ability to wirelessly transmit data over long ranges with high reliability and security. We are well established across multiple markets such as military and defence, uncrewed vehicles such as drones, police and government, and broadcast technology.

At DTC, our DSP Engineers work at the heart of our wireless technology, designing and developing the signal processing algorithms and proprietary waveforms that enable our products to transmit data reliably and securely over the air. You will work across DSP algorithm design, modelling, simulation and testing, using MATLAB and/or Python to develop new capabilities and enhance our existing Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology. This could include the design, modelling and evaluation of waveforms for reliable communication in challenging channel conditions, encompassing areas such as modulation and coding, waveform shaping, synchronisation, channel estimation, equalisation and signal detection.

Our work combines advanced engineering with real-world product development. You could be developing a new waveform, modelling and improving an existing system, creating a prototype to demonstrate a new capability, or analysing data to understand and optimise the performance of our technology. Wireless communications or SDR experience would be highly relevant, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in strong DSP Engineers from other mathematically intensive signal-processing backgrounds. Experience with C/C++ and embedded systems would be useful, as would some knowledge or exposure to FPGA technology. You do not need to be an FPGA design expert, however. We are primarily looking for people with strong DSP fundamentals who understand how algorithms can ultimately be translated into practical, real-time products.

Although we are advertising this position at Principal level, we are also very interested in hearing from strong Senior DSP Engineers. We can consider the level of the position based on your experience and technical capability.

Why work at DTC:

  • We celebrate and recognise success
  • Take pride in our culture
  • Enjoy working alongside highly skilled colleagues on ground-breaking technology that fuels the continued success of the business
  • Flexible working environment
  • Competitive salaries
  • A great benefits package
  • Ensure that our Engineers receive world-class training and development

Successful applicants will need to be able to undergo Security Clearance, although employment can commence prior to this being obtained.
