The Opportunity DTC is seeking a Regulatory Engineer to lead product compliance and regulatory approval activities across its portfolio of communications and technology products. Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Technology, this role is embedded within the product development lifecycle, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and sales teams to ensure compliance requirements are considered from the earliest design stages through to global product launch and ongoing certification maintenance.
The successful candidate will own the end‑to‑end regulatory compliance process, develop certification strategies, coordinate testing programmes with external laboratories, manage technical documentation and support approvals across multiple international markets. The role will also play a key part in supporting defence and military‑related opportunities, including tender submissions and specialist testing requirements.
We welcome applications from mid‑level Regulatory/Compliance Engineers through to experienced Compliance or Regulatory Managers. The level of autonomy and responsibility will be tailored to the successful individual, with strong support available from the wider engineering leadership team during onboarding. We are particularly interested in candidates who can grow into, or already demonstrate, the ability to independently own regulatory strategy, certification activities and compliance decision‑making.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of international product regulations and standards, including CE, UKCA, EMC, RED & Radio Equipment Regulations, RCM, CRA, FCC, RoHS, REACH, MIC and related certification frameworks, together with the ability to work effectively across engineering and commercial stakeholders. Exposure to cybersecurity, software‑related compliance requirements or experience gained within defence, telecommunications, industrial electronics, aerospace, broadcast technology, test houses, certification bodies or medical devices would be advantageous.
This is an opportunity to influence product development from concept to deployment while helping ensure DTC products meet the highest standards of regulatory, environmental and customer compliance worldwide. The role is broad in scope, covering everything from product safety, radio approvals and environmental legislation through to current & emerging cybersecurity requirements, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical and regulatory challenges.
