PAYE Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Supervisor / Construction Manager to join a leading contractor delivering major data centre projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a large-scale critical infrastructure project, taking responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of electrical packages from installation through to commissioning and handover.

The successful candidate will operate within a senior site delivery role, overseeing electrical activities, coordinating work fronts and managing the successful delivery of electrical packages in line with programme, quality and safety objectives.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Electrical Supervisor / Construction Manager will lead site delivery teams, supervise subcontractors and coordinate electrical activities across multiple work areas. The successful candidate will act as a key link between site teams, project management, commissioning teams and client representatives, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day electrical construction activities.
  • Supervise electrical operatives, supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.
  • Monitor installation progress and report against project milestones.
  • Manage labour allocation, productivity and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate multiple work fronts and electrical packages.
  • Participate in look-ahead planning and programme meetings.
  • Attend client, subcontractor and coordination meetings.
  • Liaise with project management, commissioning and commercial teams.
  • Review and implement RAMS, permits and safe systems of work.
  • Oversee electrical installations including LV and HV systems, UPS systems, generators, switchgear and associated infrastructure.
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure installations comply with project specifications.
  • Support procurement and material management activities.
  • Assist with weekly and monthly progress reporting.
  • Identify and resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Support testing, commissioning and project handover activities.
  • Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and project documentation.
  • Promote and enforce health, safety and quality standards at all times.

Experience & Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • ECS Gold Card or ECS Manager Card.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
  • Previous experience as an Electrical Supervisor, Lead Supervisor, Senior Supervisor, Electrical Construction Manager or similar role.
  • Previous data centre, critical infrastructure or large-scale M&E project experience.
  • Strong understanding of LV/HV systems, UPS systems, generators and switchgear.
  • Experience managing electrical teams and subcontractors.
  • Experience working alongside commissioning teams.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC processes and project handover procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong client-facing and coordination abilities.

Desirable Experience

  • Data centre or mission-critical project experience.
  • Pharmaceutical, industrial or critical infrastructure experience.
  • Experience delivering projects through to practical completion.
  • Familiarity with digital reporting and document management systems.
  • Experience managing multiple work packages simultaneously.
