Rate: £275–£325 per day DOE

Start Date: Approximately 6 Weeks

Opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a major data centre project. We are seeking candidates with previous experience working within mission-critical or data centre environments, supervising mechanical installation works and specialist HVAC systems. This is a long-term opportunity to join a high-performing project team delivering complex mechanical services within a fast-paced critical environment.

The Role

The Mechanical Supervisor will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of mechanical installation works on site, ensuring safety, quality and programme requirements are consistently achieved. Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising mechanical subcontractors and direct labour.
  • Overseeing HVAC installation works.
  • Managing ductwork, pipework, chilled water and associated mechanical services.
  • Coordinating installation activities with electrical and construction teams.
  • Monitoring progress against programme.
  • Ensuring work is delivered safely and to specification.
  • Carrying out toolbox talks and site briefings.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Managing quality inspections and snagging activities.
  • Supporting commissioning and handover activities.

Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Supervisor.
  • Data centre or mission-critical project experience is essential.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical building services.
  • Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site teams.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical information.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation.
  • Experience working to demanding programmes and project deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Gold JIB-PMES Supervisor Card
  • CSCS Gold Supervisor Card
  • SSSTS or SMSTS preferred.
  • Relevant mechanical qualifications.
  • First Aid qualification desirable.
