DT Source are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Construction Manager on behalf of a leading specialist contractor delivering major construction, electrical and M&E works within critical data centre environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven site delivery professional to join a growing business involved in large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and driving the day-to-day construction delivery of a live data centre project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards. You will manage site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners, coordinate works across multiple disciplines, and work closely with project managers, package managers, commercial teams, commissioning teams and the client. This role would suit a strong Senior Construction Manager or Construction Manager with proven experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, M&E or large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day construction activities across site.
  • Drive programme delivery and ensure works are completed safely, on time and to specification.
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners across multiple work fronts.
  • Manage construction sequencing, logistics, access, permits and site coordination.
  • Coordinate electrical, mechanical, CSA, logistics and commissioning interfaces.
  • Produce and manage daily, weekly and short-term lookahead programmes.
  • Ensure labour, materials, access and sequencing are aligned with programme requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers, package managers, supervisors and commercial teams.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RAMS, permits and installation methodologies.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in line with approved drawings, specifications, RAMS and project requirements.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of health and safety across site.
  • Attend and chair daily briefings, toolbox talks, site coordination meetings, progress meetings and subcontractor reviews.
  • Monitor site progress, identify risks or delays, and implement recovery plans where required.
  • Manage site records, progress updates, delays, variations and change information where required.
  • Support commercial teams with accurate progress reporting and site information.
  • Manage quality standards, inspections, ITPs, snagging and close-out requirements.
  • Coordinate with commissioning teams to support smooth handover and project completion.
  • Maintain strong communication with the client, internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Lead, motivate and support site teams to maintain productivity, quality and performance.
  • Represent the business professionally at all times.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Senior Construction Manager, Construction Manager or similar.
  • Strong background in data centre, critical infrastructure, mission-critical, M&E or large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of site delivery, construction sequencing, logistics and programme management.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, supervisors and site delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of M&E coordination and construction interfaces.
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts across a live project.
  • Strong health and safety awareness.
  • Confident reviewing RAMS, permits, drawings, specifications and site documentation.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and site delivery.
  • Ability to identify risks early and drive practical solutions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and project reporting systems.

Desirable Qualifications

  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS Black Card or relevant management-level CSCS card.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator or Temporary Works Supervisor.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Relevant construction, electrical, mechanical or engineering qualifications.
  • Previous data centre or critical environment project experience.
