Main Purpose of the role: The Group Process Specialist is required to ensure the highest standard of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment is realised companywide and within the region of operation. You will be expected to support regional sites, in the Midlands, within DSV UK with travel required to them on a regular basis to ensure compliance is maintained throughout their region in the UK. Through your in-depth knowledge and understanding of current UK and IE legislation you will have experience to undertake hazard spotting and be able to produce risk assessments.

The organisation is divided between Road, Air and Sea and Contract Logistics and with each area this brings its own challenges so can expect your daily routine to be varied but for the right person truly rewarding.

What will you be doing?

  • Liaising and working with members of the wider QHSE team within UK.
  • Working with the wider members of the divisional management to ensure that their operations remain at the highest standards of compliance, remaining personable, professional and protective of reputation.
  • Growing and improving the behavioural culture, beyond the company stated QHSE objectives.
  • Developing relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure activities continue to meet compliance to legal and local requirements, i.e. Health & Safety Authority, Fire Service / Insurance Companies and Landlords where appropriate.
  • Carrying out Root Cause Accident and Incident Investigations, assessing trends, collating accident stats.
  • Working continuously to reduce accidents within the workplace.
  • Assisting sites with the completion of on-site Risk Assessments / Safe Systems of Work.
  • Provide progress reports on a regular basis to the Senior Management, both at a site level and the QHSE UK and IE teams, with monthly reports to management.
  • Co-ordination of Safety Promotion Campaigns / Fire Procedures and issue of Safety Alerts.

About You:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or higher, or equivalent (working towards may be considered).
  • Ability to be flexible and open to change within a dynamic business arena.
  • Membership of a recognised safety professional body e.g. IOSH (or equivalent).
  • Experience working within an integrated Management system consisting of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSMS) aligned with ISOs 9001, 1400 and 45001, amongst others.
  • Recent evidence of ongoing relevant continuous professional development.
  • Excellent engagement and communication skills including presentation and report writing skills including the ability to produce concise information suitable to be disseminated within the Company.
  • Ability to maintain strong engagement and collaboration with all levels of the business.
