We are seeking a proactive and organised Freight Forwarder/Gateway Operator to join our Ocean/Air Operations team in Mercia Park. In this role, you will support the Export Gateway Manager by coordinating customer shipments, ensuring compliance, maintaining documentation, and providing exceptional service throughout the freight lifecycle. You will work closely with customers, subcontractors and overseas agents to deliver operational efficiency and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Process and consolidate export airfreight shipments
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of export documentation (AWBs, manifests, customs entries) with high attention to data quality
- Liaise with airlines, handling agents and internal teams for flight bookings and space confirmations
- Monitor and update shipment status in the system
- Handle security screening compliance and ensure cargo meets airline and both origin and destination country regulatory requirements
- Resolve operational issues promptly to avoid delays
Qualifications
- Over 2 years of Export Air Experience
- Customer focused with a dedication to delivering high quality service
- Ability to maintain a positive mind‑set when working under pressure and re‑prioritise workload where necessary
- Ability to multitask and strong problem‑solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and numeracy
- Excellent IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a polite, courteous and professional telephone manner
