The Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Trainer is responsible for creating and delivering high-quality training programs to new and existing operators of material handling equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs for various types of MHE, including forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers, VNA and reach trucks.
  • Deliver hands-on training sessions and classroom instruction to new hires and current employees.
  • Ensure training materials are up-to-date and in line with current regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct practical assessments and written tests to evaluate trainees’ competency.
  • Issue certifications to operators who meet the required standards of proficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of training sessions and certifications.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with UK health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the workplace through regular training and awareness sessions.
  • Stay current with changes in safety regulations and update training programs accordingly.

About You

  • Certified MHE trainer with recognised credentials (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT; RTITB preferred).
  • Extensive experience operating various types of material handling equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations related to MHE.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
