We are looking for a professional Driver/Operator to safely load, transport, and deliver cargo in line with customer requirements and legal standards. The role involves inspecting goods, completing accurate documentation, ensuring vehicles are safe and compliant, and adhering to all health, safety, and hazardous goods regulations. You will maintain high service standards by handling cargo carefully, updating systems in real time, and communicating effectively with customers and the operations team, while working flexibly and taking responsibility for quality, safety, and accuracy in all tasks.

What will you be doing?

  • Safely load, transfer, and unload cargo in line with customer requirements, ensuring no damage at all stages
  • Inspect cargo condition and accurately complete paperwork/app reporting, highlighting any discrepancies or damages
  • Carry out vehicle checks to ensure it is safe, roadworthy, and suitable for loading
  • Follow all administrative procedures and maintain accurate, timely records
  • Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, including IMDG/ADR requirements where applicable
  • Ensure full compliance with legislation for all cargo types, including hazardous goods
  • Report vehicle faults promptly and ensure any issues are rectified before use
  • Operate vehicles in a safe, legal, and responsible manner, maintaining tachograph and driver documentation
  • Maintain high standards of security, quality, and cleanliness in the working environment
  • Update all collection and delivery information in internal systems and report any deviations to the operations team

About you

  • Valid C Licence (essential)
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • ADR certification (advantageous)
  • Flexible to work shifts, including weekends
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
