Warehouse Maintenance Technician/Facilities Assistant

Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.00pm (flexibility is required as well as occasional evenings/weekends)

DSV are recruiting for a facilities assistant to be responsible for the upkeep and repair of all warehouse equipment and facilities.

The role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

You will have a strong mechanical background and be committed to quality and safety.

The role is based within a warehouse environment and may include exposure to noise, dust and varying temperatures.

What will you be doing?

  • Conduct regular inspections of warehouse facilities, machinery and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyor systems and other warehouse machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical electrical and plumbing issues and coordinate repairs as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities including work orders and inventory of parts
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Assist in the set up and dismantling of warehouse layouts as needed for new inventory or seasonal changes.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to minimize disruption during maintenance activities
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and perform repairs in a timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of maintenance tool, equipment and storage areas
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to warehouse maintenance

About You

  • High School diploma or equivalent vocational training or certification in maintenance or related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse maintenance role or similar position
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred)
  • Excellent communication and team work skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed
