We are looking for 2 Customs Specialists to join our team in Mercia Park. Working within the Contract logistics Customs Department and reporting to the Customs Team Lead, the Customs Specialist is a key contributor in delivering accurate, efficient, and compliant customs services across the business. The role supports several company locations with day-to-day customs activity, ensuring that customer requirements are consistently met or exceeded.
What will you be doing?
- Complete customs activities on behalf of our customers, ensuring all activities are completed to AEO standard high level of accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with multiple departments and customers where required, provide updates or escalation if required.
- Ensure all customs entries are completed accurately and on time by proactively monitoring incoming vessels based on expected arrival information provided by customers.
- Prevent delays by preparing and submitting clearances in advance wherever possible, and by maintaining close oversight of shipment timelines.
- Provide timely confirmation of customs clearance to customers and freight forwarders.
- Keep the inbound clearance log updated and accurate at all times to support visibility, compliance, and efficient internal coordination within the team.
- Maintain appropriate recordkeeping standards, storing original documentation for audit purposes.
- Ensure all documents are available to customers to access and internal customs logs are always kept up to date.
- Work with the Customs Team lead to ensure the monthly FSD is submitted on time for all customs warehouse activity carried out.
- Complete/create customer export declarations and where required accompanying T1 accurately.
- Check/submit data in the Customs Warehouse Duty Management System ensuring accuracy.
About You
- Previous experience in an operational and customs role.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude.
- High organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels.
- Full driving licence.
