DSV is recruiting a Terminal Operator at Mercia Park. The role involves facilitating and ensuring that all inbound and outbound shipments are safely and accurately unloaded, received, checked, wrapped, put-away, and that other warehouse operations are performed in accordance with operational and health and safety procedures.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Terminal Operator has overall accountability for daily warehousing operations including receiving, put-away, inventory, picking, packing, and delivery of stock items, operating Manual Handling Equipment as required and minimizing losses and damages. Complete all tasks with a high degree of accuracy to ensure and maintain organisational standards. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, health and environment procedures. Maintain a safe working environment within the warehouse and report any incidents or accidents immediately to the relevant manager.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Handle goods in vehicles/containers to prepare them for replenishment.
- Pick and pack products, including unboxing, labelling, re-boxing and stacking on pallets.
- Unload vehicles, sort returns and put stock away as part of the goods return process.
- Ensure quality and accuracy during all operations.
- Perform quality, audit and other checks on product or storage locations as required.
- Maintain stock integrity by ensuring correct stock and system moves.
- Perform all other duties as reasonably required that are consistent with training and experience.
- Comply with health and safety requirements including warehouse procedures, PPE and housekeeping.
- Complete pre- and post-use inspections on workplace transport and report any malfunction or damage.
