DSV Road is recruiting a Customs Assistant to support our International Import, Export and UK Domestic transport operations at our Purfleet depot. This key operational role within our Inland Clearance Depot supports customs clearance and transport coordination after the EU. All training is provided, and you’ll be joining a highly focused, supportive and efficient team.
What will you be doing?
- Manage international import, export and UK domestic inbound/outbound movements
- Check import arrival documentation and create export clearance documentation
- Process ETSF (Customs) clearances, ensuring HMRC documentation is accurate and compliant
- Interface with HMRC systems to monitor and manage clearance status
- Provide clear cargo release instructions to depots and transport teams
- Communicate professionally with internal teams and external customers
- Maintain accurate clearance records and system updates at all times
- Ensure compliance with customs, transport and legislative requirements
About You
- Customs knowledge or experience is desirable but not essential
- Strong IT skills and confidence using multiple systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
