The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
To maintain, inspect, and repair DSV and external customers’ vehicles and trailers to prescribed standards in accordance with the Department of Transport (DFT), manufacturer, and operator license.
- Carry out periodic safety inspections on commercial vehicles and trailers to DVSA inspection manual standards.
- Prepare (and present where appropriate license held) commercial vehicles and trailers for annual MOT inspections.
- Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and body repairs as required.
- Attend broken down or accident-damaged vehicles and effect permanent or temporary repairs as needed.
- Carry out scheduled service work as per manufacturers' guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of each repair, ensuring all statistics and legal information are updated in workshop computer systems.
- Collaborate with supervisors/management to plan repairs and maintenance, providing regular updates on progress.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and health and safety procedures.
- Maintain work areas in a safe and clean condition.
- Attend all required training courses.
- Perform any other duties as instructed by supervisory staff, relevant to the grade of this position.
